Medical negligence may be the most forgotten danger that exists in hospitals. While a patient is already worrying about their personal pain and situation, the thought of another factor possibly arising because of a mistake by the medical staff caring for them generally does not come to mind.

However, medical negligence is a reality for many patients that find themselves needing medical care by trained, hospital staff. When the factors of chance and variation in rules occur when it comes to your health treatment, this medical negligence can become a serious risk to the livelihood of any patient.

The ways that clinical negligence can occur is frighteningly abundant and one can only hope that they themselves are dealing with medical professionals that are on top of their game and are being cautious in following the letters of the law governing medical procedures and protocol. The last thing a sick person needs is medical negligence compounding their pain.

I am a bus driver in a large city. Many people think it is a cushy job, but it can be anything but. Many of my co-workers, like myself, have suffered personal injury from the muscle strain caused by sitting in the same seat hour after hour, driving a large vehicle. Although we obviously try to make the job as comfortable as possible, it is simply not ergonomically sound to be stationary in a sitting position for such a long time. Most drivers get back aches and muscle-related soreness.

My accident at work resulted from the long term effects of driving. At one point, my strained muscles couldnÂ’’t take it anymore, and one night at the end of a shift I suffered a bad strain that spread all the way up my back and ended up leading to severe headaches for months.

I took time off and did some physical therapy, and eventually returned to work doing only light duties. I had to file an accident claim for insurance purposes, but since these types of injures are so common among drivers, I didnÂ’’t have too big of an issue getting my personal injury claim processed.

Asbestos is commonly used as a fire retardant as well as insulation in many older homes and buildings. It consists of mineral fibers, most of which are so small that one cannot see them. When insulated areas or tiles break down from age or damage, they can release these fibers, which can be inhaled; this is when problems start to happen. Asbestos can bring on lung disease and abdominal cancer, although symptoms may not appear for many years, however one can still place and asbestos claim. Those who smoke are at greater risk. Two major diseases are asbestosis and mesothelioma; often, those who work in hazardous areas contract these diseases. However, we can reduce exposure to asbestos by replacing it or making sure it does not get damaged. Asbestos is better left alone if it is well contained and cannot escape. One cannot be harmed unless it is shaken loose and released into the air that one breathes.

Qualified professionals should take care of any repairs or clean-up jobs dealing with asbestos.
